Letchworth took on the league leaders last Sunday at Peterborough’s Bushfield sports centre in their home premier league match. Bury had Darrel Pearce, Darren Willis and Jess I’ Anson out injured which left the remainder of the squad to beat the Hertfordshire boys.
Letchworth came out fighting and scored the first goal of the match after only 4 minutes from the start, this forced Bury to attack to stay in the game. Carlos Amaral Jr. evened up the score six minutes into the match and the Suffolk boys scored again within the next 60 seconds. The match leader swayed from one team to the other. Ten seconds from the final whistle Letchworth’s Ricky Jupp missed a penalty and the final score ended up 7 – 7.
